Airline Track Ltd. (Lentorata Oy) company is designing a planned 30-kilometer rail connection designed to link Helsinki Airport with long-distance train traffic. The new route will branch off from the main line at Pasila, pass through the airport, and rejoin the main line north of Kerava at Kytömaa. Most of the route, approximately 28 kilometers, will be underground. This project aims to provide direct long-distance train connections to the airport, reduce travel times, and increase rail capacity on the congested Pasila–Kerava section, thereby improving the reliability of train services. Suomi-rata Oy changed its name to Airline Track Ltd. in 2024.
